Homosexual acts are sins, yes, and so homosexuals have a greater inner-temptation to face than the heterosexual world. Rather than being slapped in the face and being called evil, sinners, wrong, abominations, etc, they rather need to be loved by the church first, and then taught that perhaps marriage is not a gift meant for them.
I flatly reject this statement. I do not believe in a God who would tell his child that, "marriage was not a gift meant for them."
