The story in Elders quorum was the worst. The teacher talked about how Steve Young's wife had given approximately 50,000 to the no on 8 campaign. The teacher then explained that this donation was due to the fact that she had a gay brother, and felt like she needed to support him. Then came the question that I really hate: "Do you think it was more important for her to support her brother, or to support the prophet? Clearly it is more important to support the prophet." Gay marriage isn't destroying families, proposition 8 is! I am so sick and tired of the hate that prop 8 spreads, and that the rifts and divides that the church's fervent support has created. Nothing could be worth this. Nothing.

It's more than just a political issue for them; it's a moral issue. And until the whole freaking world agrees with them they won't let it go, even if their side won and it should be over.
